Over the weekend, I did research to find specific statistics we could highlight in our infographic. I found a source that was basically an essay of our infographic - the numbers were very useful for the points we were trying to convey to our audience. This table in particular was very helpful:

From this, I calculated how many pounds of CO2 a plane flying from Washington State to Massachusetts produces because most apples found in groceries stores in MA are grown in WA. The article also had some other information besides numbers that gave us some more good points to use in the textual parts of the infographic.
I also found an eco-friendly font that I thought would be an interesting visual to use. I downloaded it for free at https://rymaneco.co.uk/ and thought it created a clean an visually pleasing look to the infographic. This was our first completed draft:
Today in class, we critiqued everyone's first drafts. From the feedback we received, we will be changing the font to create more of a story book theme - the font will have smoother, curved edges, and be simpler. We also will be creating signs indicating the skyscrapers are representing Boston and the small farm is a local/community farm. We will also be changing the format of the text boxes to make them look more like clouds in order to give the entire infographic a more cohesive look. This transformation will also involve deleting the map and reformatting the alignment and locations of the title and text boxes. We will try and finish these next steps by tomorrow.

I think an interesting way to convey the city as Boston would be to have a sign say "Boston, 2000 miles West" or something like that to convey the sheer amount of distance a truck would have to drive to get to a distribution center. I'm also very interested in how y'all are going to create a storybook theme, I know for myself that would be difficult. I really am going to miss the map, but it does seem somewhat tone-death to have a technical illustration for the story book theme. And don't mind me harping on this buuuuutL be sure to change the trajectory of the planeeeeee.
